Bad pre-teen literature of which I am a fan

I don't go so far as to reread and review Sweet Valley High (like over at The Dairiburger ) but I do have several tongue in cheek recapping blogs in my google reader. Let me tell you- I cannot believe that I read this dreck-and I absolutely love the snark with which SVH (and other pre-teen predecessors to Gossip Girl) are reviewed.

So you can imagine my delight when I discovered that Diablo Cody is adapting Sweet Valley High for the big screen. I die. I will be going to see this (which is huge as I am NOT a movie person- I maybe see 2-3 max per year).

Lila was always my favorite (lime green Triumph? Yes please!), though I did have quite a penchant for Jessica too. Elizabeth put me to sleep.

I'm back...pneumonia and boredom will do that to you...

TA-DA! And you thought it wouldn't happen.

So what have I been up to?

Work, work, work (I have tons of product, skin/hair/body posts coming up!), numerous travels (Dominican-miss it!), and of course my internet shopping is full steam!

So I may have bought myself a pair of suede Mad Mary's...yes, last season, I know, but I was/am deepl,y in love with them and having worked 3 60+ hour weeks, I deserve them. I also might have bought a pair of Insectika's. I know, I know. But they were on SALE. I NEEEDED them. And the people at Bob Ellis are ever so helpful about tracking ANYTHING down. So really, it was a good decision. I can't wait til they come in.

Now back to work...not looking forward to what I have to do today, but really, when you call your boss (me) at home and tell her (me) you think all the phones are out in the building and she (me) tells you that you should go and see if the phone is unplugged....which of course IT IS...yes, you're probably asking for it. And no, its not the first time something like this has happened. Still, never fun.

I'm Back!

The work trip was well, a work trip. 12 nights in a "business" hotel (though I much would have preferred the Aloft that was next door), and numerous meetings while I decide what best to implement. I started in my home office yesterday-things went well and luckily restructuring will wait until October or so. There are a LOT of issues to fix but my staff seems positive and ready to move forward-lets hope it lasts!

This weekend, I'll be visiting my college town for a little football (a little-I could care less but its one of those things I need to do to keep my husband happy) and a lot of time with the girls. We haven't seen each other since my wedding so we're super excited.

Sorry everyone for the lack of updates! I was at the beach for a quick getaway (and a bit of a surprise in which I forgot not only my phone charger, but my laptop as well) before a 2 week business trip beginning on Wednesday. I did the juice fast for 2 days-broke it Saturday morning, and am starting it again for another 2 days before living out of a hotel and being limited when it comes to good food choices. I have to say that I LOVE juice fasting! This was the first time that I ever have, and it was easy, delicious and I felt fantastic!
